On Saturday I attended The New Yorker Passport to the Arts event. It consisted of a gallery crawl through Chelsea to raise money for the Friends of the High Line.
For a small donation you got a "passport book" that was stamped at each gallery. Each of the stamps was designed by a featured artist. It was a great day, saw a lot of good work, got to hang out with friends I don't see so often and the crawl format kept you moving and on a mission.
It ended with an auction of work and private party. All of it very well done and organized. (I wish other groups would put crawls and fundraisers together like this. It was a great way to check out the scene in Chelsea.)
You can see snapshots of some of the work on my Flickr site.
